Ahmedabad based startup OmSpace Rocket and Exploration (OSRE) successfully launched a 4.2 metre sounding rocket from Bavaliyari near Dholera, marking the first rocket launch from Gujarat’s soil. The single stage rocket reached an altitude of 3 km within seconds and safely landed using a dual parachute recovery system. Developed entirely in Ahmedabad under the Make in India initiative, the launch validated several indigenous technologies and marks a significant step forward for Gujarat’s growing space startup ecosystem.
